Peoplelogic Winter '22 (aka Release 42)

Better known as the answer to life, the universe and everything - our latest makes it faster than ever to get from insight to action for your organization's engagement and health - with no surveys required!

New

Organize Your Team Just The Way You Want

Creating Departments effectively introduces the ability to nest multi-level teams and managers to include an aggregated view of key metrics, ONA graphs, and StayFactor scores. Company admins can now see a combined view of their organization by departments, teams, and employees.

Keep Peoplelogic In Sync with Your Office 365 Groups

Automatically keep your employee roster up to date in Peoplelogic.ai when connected to O365. You can now sync to O365 so that when a new work email is created, the platform will automatically create the new employee in PL. It will also deactivate the employee when they exit the org (and the O365 email becomes deactivated).

Streamlined User Experience

You spoke, we listened. We've been working to improve the user experience for all current and future customers. In our last release we introduced an entirely new experience for Peoplelogic - focused on delivering faster insights and bringing to life the underlying Graph that powers the entire platform. In this release, we've continued our emphasis on experience - listening to our customers and reducing the number of clicks you need to do take to do any particular action in Peoplelogic.

Additionally, we've dramatically improved the performance of the entire system - with special emphasis on the engine that powers single source of truth for all metrics, the graph and insights dashboards. With these changes, we're well positioned to scale to ever larger customers!

StayFactor & Reporting Improvements

Our Data Science Team has been working to increase the usefulness of our aggregated data. Including the following:

  • ONA Insights: Good communication and connectivity usually represent better engagement. We've improved the ONA to help customers identify key influencers, bridges, and critical points of communication.
  • Work-life Balance: Considering the different balances between companies, team, and policies sheds more insight into how it might contribute to burnout and StayFactor levels.
  • Job Title Categories/Responsibilities: Events and signals have different impacts on the productivity, engagement, and StayFactor levels depending on job titles and roles.

Updated GDPR Data Processing Addendum

Furthering our commitment to data privacy and compliance, we achieved SOC2 Type 2 compliance over the summer. Additionally, there have continued to be changes to the EU data privacy laws and we have updated our Data Processing Agreement to account for the latest changes for both the EU and the UK. Finally, we have removed Stream from our sub-processors and will be adding Merge.dev in Q1.

Fix

More than 100 bug fixes including improvements to the Insights query language, improvements to the focused hours and focused events graphs, and an improved ability to lookup employees when there are several with the same name.

Summer 2021 Release - New & Improved Recommendations, 8x8, Google Sheets and More

New

Welcome to our first release of the long, hot summer! In the last release we promised more recommendations for Jira and Asana - as promised, this release is focused on new and improved recommendations. Let's take a look!

New Features

Several new recommendations leverage our Graph Data behind scenes, including:

  • New Recommendation: Manager interaction with team member has lowered
  • New Recommendation: Employee is disconnected from the rest of the team

Screen Shot 2021-07-26 at 4.22.29 PM.png

  • New Recommendation: You Have Hidden Influencers

There have also been many new recommendations that leverage our connection to Jira and enrich the data with other information that we have collected:

  • New Recommendation: Spent vs Estimated Time (Jira)
  • New Recommendation: Issue Has Had It's Sprint Changed Multiple Times

Screen Shot 2021-07-26 at 4.21.45 PM.png

  • New Recommendation: Issue/Task/Card Has Had It's Due Date Changed Multiple Times

Finally, there are several new recommendations that are focused on helping you get out in front of your team potentially being over capacity. These look for slow or blocked processes or rapid increases in historical activity that may indicate a new and unplanned priority:

  • New Recommendation: Task Has Dependency That Is Blocking On Time Completion
  • New Recommendation: Task Is Assigned That Is Blocking Other Team Members' Work
  • New Recommendation: Team Is Potentially Over Capacity
  • New Recommendation: Activity Spiked Compared To Historical Average

Screen Shot 2021-07-26 at 4.22.17 PM.png

  • New Integration: 8x8 Cloud Phone
  • New Integration: Google Sheet Event Import
  • Added support for custom event types (including reporting in Lexi and in KPIs)

Screen Shot 2021-07-26 at 4.33.43 PM.png

Finally, in our ongoing commitment to security, we've enhanced our enterprise grade features:

  • Two-factor authentication enabled for all logins
  • SSO now supported for our Enterprise tier customers
  • Peoplelogic is now SOC2 Type I compliant

Enhancements

  • "Understand More" for recommendations now contains tables with data directly from sources, not just Lexi graphs

Screen Shot 2021-07-26 at 4.31.28 PM.png

  • Updated several recommendations to reduce their repetition (increased thresholds, uses historical average from employee, etc)
  • Data from Slack is aggregating and available in Insights again
  • Onboarding: Dialog to guide new admins and managers through next steps has been re-enabled
  • Dramatically reduced the API calls required for Opportunity/Deal based recommendations

What's Coming Next

  • HubSpot Integration is getting completely overhauled to catch more complete and accurate data
  • Continued iteration on frequency of certain recommendations
  • Support for team hierarchies - giving you more flexibility to map to exactly how your organization is setup
  • Completely new onboarding process for new users - making it even easier to get started with Peoplelogic and get to something you didn't know in < 5 minutes

If you'd like to get more information on our upcoming features, feel free to reach out to your customer experience manager to get an early preview of what's next!

Surfacing The Data That Makes Your Team More Effective

May has been all about rolling out some great new features to make it easier than ever to help your team be more effective.

New Features

On the recommendation front, we've got several new additions that help sales team leaders keep an eye on their overall effectiveness. Each one shows you a snippet of the opportunities that triggered the recommendation and in a future release we'll let you dive deeper without needing to jump back to the original source (Hubspot and Salesforce currently supported)!

  • New Recommendation: Substantial Increase or Decrease In Pipeline
  • New Recommendation: Frequent Opportunity Close Date Changes
  • New Recommendation: Opportunity Stage Has Not Changed In 30 Days

In our next update, we'll be adding several new recommendations for Asana and Jira users to make sure they keep their projects on the rails!

As you may know, Peoplelogic builds a graph of your team and and their interactions behind the scenes, commonly known as Organizational Network Analysis. We've always let you use Lexi to see the graph, but this month we're starting to surface our first recommendations leveraging this data.

  • New Recommendation: Employee is the only connection to an external contact

Screen Shot 2021-05-26 at 5.11.05 PM.png

We're also making it easier to get integrations connected and get great insights about your team:

  • Integrations can now capture additional information during connection. For example, when you connect Asana we let you select the Workspace to connect rather than just using the first one the API returns.
  • Lexi now returns employee data on all the teams they're a part of - not just their primary team.

Finally, we're just about ready to share more of our upcoming UX changes. Here's a bit of a sneak peek!

new-ui-example.png

Enhancements

  • Employee and team and organization changes are sent to Insights in Near Real Time - connect your tools, connect your team and get recommendations even faster than before
  • Reworked the Asana integration to make it more reliable and faster
  • Fixed inability to connect new Asana integrations
  • Increased the time that the frontend will wait for an employee import to complete
  • Added several missing event types to Lexi's vocabulary
  • Fixed an error in the Timeline for some events when they had participants
  • Daily emails are now re-activated but disabled by default - go to your Preferences to turn them on

Insights - Now In Near Real Time

New

We may have been a little quiet with our updates the last month, but we've been hard at work with some big changes. Let's dive in.

New Features

  • Lexi, Dashboards and Insights have been upgraded to be near real time. What this means is that as soon as Peoplelogic aggregates new data (when you connect a new integration and then every 1-2 hours thereafter) its available for display and for driving your data-driven decisions. Enrichment activities (like time to close) are still run daily, just as they were before. With this change, we've also started showing the current day in Insights results - giving you that near real time visibility of where you stand with your team.
Screen Shot 2021-04-18 at 10.58.06 AM.png
  • Last month we released the ability to set goals on a weekly or monthly basis for your KPIs. This month we're pushing recommendations to you to alert you when your KPIs are trending off the goal you've set - making it even easier to stay out ahead of risks to your business.
image-new-recc.png
  • Browsing the hourly trends graphs of an employee or team are now translated to your current timezone when viewing. A future update will let you toggle between your timezone and the user/team you're viewing. In the image below, you can see that even though the engineering team is located around the globe, we've aligned it to the timezone I'm in.
Screen Shot 2021-04-18 at 11.05.33 AM.png
  • Finally, Lexi queries for team based data are no longer limited to just the user's primary team. For example, if I'm in both Executive and Engineering, my activity will now be attributed to both for reporting. Team membership, team property changes, and employee creation and updates are now also available to Lexi in real time.

Enhancements

  • Block Scheduled event was showing up entirely too often
  • Forwarding a daily or weekly notification from Outlook messes up the formatting
  • More rate limiting handling and resilience for APIs - ensuring that we get all the data, all the time.
  • Freshservice usernames are now importable via the Employee importer
  • Newly ignored mappings were not staying ignored
  • In the weekly email, it was possible to show 8 days of daily trends instead of the expected 7
  • The work email is now sync'd from Gusto if set - this makes it easier to keep Peoplelogic in sync with your HR system and your other systems like Microsoft 365.

KPIs have goals, Zendesk captures more events and tons of usability enhancements

New

New Features

  • Huge Documentation update to highlight potential KPI ideas and bring in the latest events - including the enriched data that Lexi can add (see an example)
  • KPI selection can now include any data from Lexi - including enriched insights

Screen Shot 2021-03-05 at 9.19.01 AM.png

  • KPIs can now have goals (beta) - new recommendations coming soon!
  • Assignment events in Jira and Zendesk are now aggregated
  • Broader ticket lifecycle events in Zendesk are now aggregated - including status change and ticket creation
  • Integrations can now have an option to ignore external unmapped users (Zendesk uses this by default) - allows overall tracking of externally created events
  • New Recommendation: Team is working on a lot of other items besides KPIs

Screen Shot 2021-03-05 at 9.22.39 AM.png

  • "How your team spends their day" chart explains the "Others" section in more detail:

Screen Shot 2021-03-05 at 9.12.49 AM.png

Enhancements

  • Aliases for Microsoft 365 emails defined in Integration Mappings per user are now used to lookup activity in Microsoft 365 integration
  • Labels and axes on Insights graphs are more intuitive
  • Daily notifications will include recommendations even if we don't aggregate any activity for that day
  • Core working hours, locations and timezones are now considered in recommendations that consider the length of the working day
  • Swift Kanban aggregation is more efficient and doesn't get caught with rate limiting
  • Greenhouse aggregation can occasionally trigger rate limiting
  • Improved handling of "since last week" for comparing dates in Lexi
  • Stage change events weren't being aggregated for Greenhouse
  • Trello integration now properly handles rate limiting when there are many updates
  • Gusto integration now supports work_email field
  • Forwarding a daily or weekly email from Outlook breaks all formatting

Greenhouse Aggregator (beta), Improved Confluence Aggregator and "Time to Close"

New

We've been hard at work building our next major release of the People Intelligence Platform, but wanted to make sure we got out a few new features and some enhancements to make Peoplelogic run more smoothly.

New Features

  • New Aggregator Beta: Greenhouse Recruiting. Now you can aggregate your recruiting team events to better understand your recruiting funnel and team performance.
  • Confluence Aggregator improvements - added support for participants and tags and the latest API responses.
  • Trigger OKR events (suggested and updated) via the Confluence OKR Template
  • New Time To Close synthetic insights available for Jira. Now you can see both the time to close from creation and time to close from assignment. More supported tools (Zendesk, Trello, Asana, GitHub, Freshservice, etc) coming soon!

Screen Shot 2021-01-29 at 11.03.55 AM.png

  • Time series graphs can now show units for the data series and split the axis when there are two different ranges of data.

Screen Shot 2021-01-29 at 11.02.30 AM.png

Enhancements

  • Disconnect After Hours recommendation was surfacing too frequently
  • Stay Factor queries in Lexi were not showing the proper values
  • GSuite setup was not picking up delegated admins as admins
  • Hubspot aggregation was failing when there were more than 10,000 updated companies

New Year, New Insights: Peoplelogic now synthesizes advanced insights from Salesforce, Close CRM, and Hubspot.

New

Happy New Year! To start the year we've got some big enhancements to Lexi, making it even easier to get the insights you need to quantify your capacity and resourcing, prevent unwanted attrition, and help your managers make data-driven decisions.

New Features

  • New synthetic insights available via Lexi when you have Hubspot, Close CRM or Salesforce connected. Lexi will stitch together your data to provide new insights like time from lead to closed won/lost, time to closed won/lost, opportunity amounts by employee or team.

You can mix and match these insights into both the existing time series graphs and the new bar charts. Here's a taste:

    Screen Shot 2021-01-07 at 10.24.21 AM.png

    image (17).png

    Screen Shot 2021-01-07 at 10.26.58 AM.png

Just a few of the new values you can query include: 'opportunities', 'sales opportunities', lead time to opportunity', 'time to close opportunity', 'time to win opportunity', 'time to win', 'time to won', 'time to close won', 'time to closed won', 'time to lost opportunity', 'time to lost', 'time to close lost', 'time to closed lost', 'opportunity amount', 'amount', 'dollar amount', 'opportunity amount won', 'amount won', 'dollar amount won', 'opportunity amount lost', 'amount lost', 'dollar amount lost'

The beauty of these new insights is that as we continue to improve our models we will stitch together additional data from other non-CRM sources to show you opportunities that haven't been touched (as an example) even when your team isn't using their CRM to the fullest.

  • New Lexi Visualization: Bar Charts. Now you can compare multiple data points across your teams in an easy to read bar chart instead of the time series graphs (see the meetings invited feature below!). More visualizations coming soon!

  • Lexi now lets you exclude employees or teams from results - simply add excluding 'email' or 'excluding 'Team Name'. You can even combine several exclusions into a single statement with "and," for instance: show daily meetings scheduled excluding 'Engineering Team' and 'Customer Support Team'

  • Lexi now infers the time period you meant when asking it to compare previous periods: show daily call events by team compared to the previous two weeks

  • Lexi now understands "meetings invited" so you can compare how often your team is invited to meetings vs other productive work: show me a bar chart of meeting invited compared to meeting scheduled by employee since the last month

    Screen Shot 2021-01-06 at 4.25.48 PM.png

Enhancements

  • Hubspot aggregator was logging a lot of activity as the object owner not the activity doer
  • Slack conversations were not present in insights
  • Future events were always stuck at the top of the timeline
  • Grouping insights by month was failing
  • Errors in forms were always pushing appended icons down
  • KPI deltas For employees did not match team
  • Getting the top or bottom results of queries from Lexi was failing - now you can ask Lexi to: show me the top 3 employees by meeting invited

  • Acknowledge Success recommendation shouldn't be granted when there's other warning recommendations near it
  • Daily and Weekly email notifications weren't sending for new users

Keep Your Team Synchronized Easily With New Gusto Integration

New

We know that keeping who's still active in your organization, their primary team and their titles in sync with your HRIS can be a huge hassle - particularly as your team grows. That's why today we're announcing our first Employee Sync integration - the Gusto People Platform. Why Gusto? Simple - we use it and so do many of our customers!

Just connect it like any other integration and we'll keep your Peoplelogic instance up to date with your People system of record. If you're already a Gusto customer, just connect it to your account with a few clicks. If not, you can get up to 3 months of Gusto free when you sign up for Gusto from Peoplelogic.

Screen Shot 2020-11-30 at 8.54.22 AM.png

Other Great Enhancements

Employee Sync wasn't the only thing we snuck into this release. Today we're also announcing the beta release of our Asana integration - soon to be available in their application directory. Connecting to Asana gives you the same power to analyze your team's data as we recently released with Trello and others!

Screen Shot 2020-11-30 at 9.05.13 AM.png

Finally, we fixed a bunch of little frontend inconsistencies and improved the Hubspot aggregator to be more efficient and store more useful data for a big upcoming update to the Insights platform. Stay tuned!
